In 2005, I adopted Yuka, a street dog from Curacao’s animal shelter. Little did I know that this decision would shape our lives in the most incredible way. Inspired by Yuka’s companionship, I embarked on a journey that led to the creation of Yuka’s Dog Services.

Answering a Need: Yuka’s Dog Walking Service is Born

Creating Social Interactions: To ensure Yuka had a fulfilling life, I started walking dogs from friends, gradually building a small pack of furry friends exploring the beautiful island of Curacao. People noticed our group and began inquiring if I provided dog walking services.

Taking a chance, I decided to say “yes” to those inquiries and presented our pack’s picture with a logo at a local pet store. This simple act brought unexpected attention.

Expansion and Evolution: Yuka’s Sitting Service and Beyond

The next day, someone called seeking a sitter for their two beloved shepherds. This marked the official beginning of Yuka’s Dog Services. As demand grew, Yuka’s Dog Services expanded to include Yuka’s Sitting Service.

Dogs who had accompanied us on walks started staying with me, and word spread about the personalized care they received. Our reputation blossomed, and I found myself in a rewarding position.

The Birth of a Dream: Yuka’s Dog Holiday Park

With the backing of my supportive employers, Esther & Erik, I made the life-changing decision to dedicate myself fully to Yuka’s Dog Services. I registered the company and bid farewell to my previous job. What was once a hobby had transformed into a thriving business.

From a small house in Marie Pampoen, we moved to St. Willibrordus. Today, we proudly reside in a beautiful home nestled on 8000m2 of land. This space allowed us to realize our dream: a dog paradise, where each guest experiences a tailored, enjoyable vacation.
